Dollar Index Update as on 20 May 2020

The U.S. Dollar Index is trading at 99.33 with a loss of -0.04% percent or -0.05 point.The Dow Futures is trading at 24,441.00 up with +1.17% percent or +283.00 point.The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,951.38 up with +1.12% percent or +32.63 point.The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 9,392.62 up with +0.99% percent or +91.87 point.


Encouraging results from the trial of a vaccine for COVID-19 reduced demand for safe havens and the greenback rose to a near one-month high against the Japanese yen..

Germany and France, whose agreements usually pave the way for broader EU deals, proposed that the European Commission borrow 500 billion euros ($550 billion) on behalf of the whole EU. The Commission is expected to outline their proposal before a European summit scheduled for May 27.


For the day the Dow is trading at 24,206.86 with a loss of -1.59% percent or -390.51 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,922.94 with a loss of –1.05% percent or -30.97 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 9,185.10  with a loss of -0.54% percent or -49.72 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,307.72  with a loss of -1.95% percent or -25.97 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 747.78  with a loss of -2.09% percent or – 15.94 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,652.63 with a loss of –1.28% percent or -21.43 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,344.10  with a loss of –1.01% percent or -13.78 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,694.89  with a loss of –1.06% percent or -18.18  point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,612.07  with a loss of –1.01% or -16.39 point.
