Dollar Index Update as on 04 Feb 2020

The U.S. Dollar Index is trading at 97.85  up with +0.05% percent or +0.05 point.The Dow Futures is trading at 28,668.50 up with +1.08% percent or +307.50 point. The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 3,281.88 up with +1.12% percent or +36.38 point.The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 9,231.00  up with +1.28% percent or +116.75 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

The dollar held firm on Tuesday after a key U.S.manufacturing survey showed a surprise recovery, while the Australian dollar rose after the central bank left rates steady and retained the outlook despite bushfires at home and a virus epidemic in China.

The widening coronavirus outbreak in China kept markets on edge, however, while traders also eyed the U.S. state of Iowa, where Democrats began months-long process to choose a challenger to President Donald Trump.

For the day the Dow is trading at 28,399.81 up with +0.51% percent or +143.78  point. The S&P 500 is trading at 3,248.92 up with 0.73% percent or +23.40 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 9,273.40 up with +1.34% percent or +122.47 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,632.21 up with 1.12%  percent or +18.14  point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 988.83  up with 0.92% percent or +8.99 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 2,028.61  with 1.07% percent or +21.39 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,457.54 up with +0.75% percent or +10.83 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,903.63 up with +0.83% percent or +15.60 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,798.41 up with +0.81% or +14.38 point.
