Dollar Index Update on 11 December 2017

US PRE MARKET

The US Dollar Index are trading at 93.76  with a loss of –0.16% percent or -0.14 point. The cac 40 index are trading at 5,400.90 for up with +0.03% percent or +1.82 point . The DAX Index are trading at 13,175.95 for up with +0.17% percent or +22.25 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Index are trading at 3,593.68 for up with +0.06% percent or +2.23 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

The dollar was steady in early Asian trade on Monday, underpinned by expectations of higher U.S. interest rates, while bitcoin seized the spotlight as futures of the cryptocurrency began trading.

U.S. employment data on Friday showed a bigger rise in jobs than expected in November, but the dollar’s gains were capped by disappointing wage data that analysts said could weigh on the pace of interest rate hikes next year.

PREVIOUS DAY ACTIVITY

U.S. market were higher on Friday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 24,329.16 for up with +0.49% percent or +117.68point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,651.50 for up with +0.55% percent or +14.52 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,840.08 for up with +0.40% percent or +27.24 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,521.72 for up with +0.08% percent or +1.26 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 928.11 with a loss of –0.05% percent or –0.42 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,890.86 for up with +0.39% percent or +7.36 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,170.82 for up with +0.53% percent or +6.22 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,569.36 for up with +0.51% percent or +8.01 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,469.31 for up with +0.55% percent or +8.01 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 24,329.16 for up with +0.49% percent or +117.68 point.
