Dollar Index Update as on 01 April 2020

The U.S. Dollar Index is trading at 99.61 up  with +0.56% percent or +0.56  point.The Dow Futures is trading at 21,047.50 with a loss of -3.23% percent or -703.50 point. The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,484.88  with a loss of -3.30% percent or -84.87 point.The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,571.25 with a loss of -2.76% percent or -215.00 point.


The dollar gained broadly against riskier currencies on Wednesday, with markets staring at what is likely to be one of the worst economic contractions for decades as the world locks down to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

The greenback advanced against the Australian and New Zealand dollars, sterling, and most emerging market currencies as fresh selling in global shares highlighted growing risks from the pandemic that has shown little sign of abating.


For the day the Dow is trading at 21,917.16 with a loss of –1.84%percent or –410.32 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,584.59 with a loss of –1.60% percent or –42.06 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,700.10 with a loss of –0.95% percent or –74.05 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,153.10  with a loss of -0.45% percent or -5.21  point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 684.84  with a loss of –0.070% percent or  −0.48  point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,443.40  with a loss of –1.08% percent or −15.75 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,187.48  with a loss of –1.38% percent or −16.66  point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,489.57 with a loss of –1.51% percent or −22.81 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,416.49  with a loss of 1.57% or −22.63 point.
