Dollar Index Update as on 21 Feb 2020

The U.S. Dollar Index is trading at 99.71 with a loss of -0.16% percent or -0.16 point.The Dow Futures is trading at 29,057.00 with a loss of -0.39% percent or -114.00 point. The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 3,355.38 with a loss of -0.41% percent or -13.87 point.The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 9,575.88 with a loss of -0.50% percent or -48.37 point.


The yen was set for its worst week in two-and-a-half years on Friday, as fears over the creeping spread of the coronavirus epidemic drove funds out of Asia and looking for safety in the U.S. dollar, gold and bonds.

Though it barely budged on Friday, the yen has lost 2% against the dollar in the previous two days, due to weak Japanese economic data and coronavirus worries.


For the day the Dow is trading at 29,219.98 with a loss of –0.44% percent or –128.05   point. The S&P 500 is trading at 3,373.23  with a loss of –0.47% percent or –12.92 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 9,750.96 with a loss of –0.67% percent or –66.21 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,696.07 up with +0.21% percent or +3.50 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 1,020.96 up with +0.46% percent or +4.65 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 2,106.12 up with +0.36% percent or +7.55 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,511.27 with a loss of –0.50% percent or –7.67 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,978.55  with a loss of –0.29% percent or  −5.71 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,869.21 with a loss of –0.32% or –6.02 point
