Dollar Index Update as on 14 Jan 2020

The U.S. Dollar Index is trading at 97.43 up with +0.09% percent or +0.08 point.The Dow Futures is trading at 28,892.50 up with +0.07% percent or +21.50 point. The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 3,290.62  up with +0.03% percent or +0.87 point.The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 9,090.88 up with +0.03% percent or +2.63 point.


The U.S. dollar index held steady on Monday before a heavy week of economic data, while sterling was the weakest performer after tepid growth increased the likelihood that the Bank of England will cut interest rates this month.

In the United States, consumer price data on Tuesday and retail sales data on Thursday are this week’s main U.S. economic focuses. The greenback weakened on Friday after U.S. job growth slowed in December.


For the day the Dow is trading at 28,907.05 up with +0.29% percent or +83.28  point. The S&P 500 is trading at 3,288.13 up with +0.70% percent or +22.78 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 9,273.93 up  with +1.04% percent or +95.07  point.


Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,669.61 up with +0.72%  percent or +11.96 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 1,020.33 up with +0.94% percent or +9.49 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 2,068.13 up with +0.82% percent or +16.76  point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,473.11 up with +0.76% percent or +11.04 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,925.22 up with +0.73% percent or +13.93 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,817.39 up with +0.73% or +13.16 point.
