Dollar Index Update on 01 July 2019

The U.S. Dollar Index is trading at 96.53 up with +0.42% percent or +0.40 point. The Dow Futures is trading at 26,869.50 up with +1.04% percent or +276.50 point. The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,977.62  up with +1.13% percent or +33.37 point.  The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,828.75  up with +1.75% percent or +135.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

The dollar and offshore Chinese yuan rallied on Monday after the United States and China agreed to restart their troubled trade talks, while the Japanese yen and Swiss franc were the big casualties as investors sold safe-haven currencies.

While reports of an agreement had been flagged ahead of U.S. President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterparty Xi Jinping’s meeting on the sidelines of the G20 meeting, the outcome was more positive than investors had expected.

For the day the Dow is trading at 26,599.96 up with +0.28% percent or +73.38 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,941.76 up with +0.58% percent or +16.84 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 8,006.24  up with +0.48% percent or +38.49 point.

WORLD MARKETS

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,566.57  up with +1.29% percent or +20.02 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 953.25 up with +1.37% percent or +12.91 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,945.51 up with +1.21% percent or +23.21 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,297.46 up with +0.40% percent or +5.21 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,730.90  up with +0.66% percent or +11.42 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,629.02  up with +0.62% or +10.00 point.
