Dollar Index Update on 04 March 2019

The U.S. Dollar Index is trading at 96.54  up with +0.18% percent or  +0.18 point. The Dow Futures is trading at 26,116.50 up with +0.33% percent or +85.50 point. The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,813.38 up with +0.30% percent or +8.38 point.  The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,192.75 up with +0.51% percent or +36.75 point.


The Australian dollar and the Chinese yuan inched up on hopes Washington and Beijing were close to a trade deal after a bitter year-long tariff dispute.

Fueling such expectations was a report from the Wall Street Journal on Sunday that said the United States and China could reach a formal agreement at a summit around March 27 given progress in talks between the two countries.

The Aussie gained as much as 0.57 percent to $0.7118, before giving up some of its gains to $0.7085 following soft business inventories and declines in job advertisements and dwelling approvals.


For the day the Dow is trading at 26,026.32  up with +0.43% percent or +110.32 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,803.69 up with +0.69% percent or +19.20 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,595.35  up with +0.83% percent or +62.82 point.


Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,589.64 up  with +0.89% percent or +14.09 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 978.79 up with  +0.52% percent or +5.08 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,925.35 up with +0.79% percent or +15.01 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,232.43  up with +0.73% percent or +8.88 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,660.61  up with +0.69% percent or +11.38 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,556.14 up with +0.67% percent or +10.42 point.
