Dollar Index Update on 14 September 2018

The U.S. Dollar Index is trading at 94.49 with  a loss of -0.06% percent or -0.05 point. The Dow Futures is trading at 26,191.00  up with +0.12% percent or  +31.00 point. The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,908.75 up with +0.12% percent or +4.00point.  The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,589.50  up with +0.33% percent or +25.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

The dollar dipped on Friday after weaker-than-expected U.S. inflation data, with the currency already sagging on signs of reduced trade tensions between the United States and China.

Emerging currencies, like the South African rand and the Mexican peso, held onto to gains having surged, as investors in emerging markets registered relief that Turkey’s central bank had hiked its policy rate to 24 percent to restore confidence in the lira.

For the day the Dow is trading at 26,145.99 up with +0.57% percent or +147.07 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,904.18   up with +0.53% percent or +15.26 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 8,013.71 up with +0.75% percent or +59.48 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,714.32  up with +0.080% percent or+1.38 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 1,078.98 with a loss of -0.031% percent or -0.33  point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 2,039.23 up with +0.15% percent or +3.04 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,286.56 up with +00.56% percent or +7.13 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,724.85 up with +0.47% or +8.02 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,611.48  up with +0.51% percent or +8.22 point;
