Dollar Index Update on 15 June 2018

U.S INDEX MARKET

The U.S. Dollar Index is trading at 94.77 with a loss of  –0.11% percent or  0.11% point. The Dow Futures is trading at 25,065.00 up with  -0.58% percent or -141.00 point. The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 141.00 with a loss of  -0.40% percent or -11.25 point.  The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,296.25 with a loss of -0.21% percent or -15.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

The single currency stabilized on Friday, trading up 0.1 percent against a broadly strong dollar at $1.1573.

But the currency was down 1.72 percent on the week, positioning it to have its biggest weekly loss since November 2016.

Analysts said they foresaw further pain for the euro in the near-term citing slowing growth in the euro zone, political instability in Italy and global trade tensions.

PREVIOUS DAY ACTIVITY

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,175.31 with  a loss of –0.10% percent or –25.89 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,782.49 with +0.25% percent or +6.86 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,761.04  up with +0.85% percent or +65.34 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,684.72 up with +0.49% percent or +8.19 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 1,039.09 up with +0.29% percent or +2.97 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,995.70 up with +0.22% percent or +4.30 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,221.78 up with +1,221.78 percent or +2.86 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,657.63 up with +0.27% percent or +4.47 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,545.83 with +0.25% percent or +3.88 point;
