Dollar Index Update on 24 October 2017

US PRE MARKET

The US Dollar Index are trading at 93.85 with a loss of -0.01% percent or -0.01 point. The cac 40 index are trading at 5,400.87 for up with +0.26% percent or  +13.97 point . The DAX Index are trading at 13,020.24 for up with +0.13% percent or +17.10 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Index are trading at 3,615.41 for up with +0.18% percent or +6.54 point

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

The dollar edged down on Tuesday, stepping back from recent highs as market attention turns to who will be the next head of the U.S. central bank.

President Donald Trump told reporters on Monday he is “very, very close” to deciding who should chair the Federal Reserve after interviewing five candidates for the position.

These include current Fed Chair Janet Yellen, whose term expires in February, as well as Fed Governor Jerome Powell, Stanford University economist John Taylor, Trump’s chief economic advisor Gary Cohn, and former Fed Governor Kevin Warsh.

PREVIOUS DAY ACTIVITY

U.S. market were  higher on Monday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 23,273.96 for up with   +0.23% percent or  +54.67 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,564.98 with a loss of –0.40% percent or  –10.23 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,586.83 with a loss of –0.64% percent or  –42.23 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,497.49  with a loss of -0.78% percent or -11.75 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 908.77  with a loss of –0.55% percent or –4.98 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,824.91 with a loss of –0.51% percent or  –9.38 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,130.15 with a loss of –0.45% percent or  –5.11  point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,520.39 with a loss of  –0.45% percent or  –6.81 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,421.64  with a loss of –0.42% percent or –5.97 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 23,273.96  with  a loss of –0.23% percent or –54.67 point.
