Dollar Index Update on 05 September 2017

US PRE MARKET

The US Dollar Index are trading at 92.50 with a loss of -0.09% percent or -0.08 point. The cac 40 index are trading at 5,097.06 with a loss of –0.14% percent or -6.91 point . The DAX Index are trading at 12,153.27 for up with  +0.42% percent or +51.06 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Index are trading at 3,428.71 with a loss of –0.05% percent or -1.71 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

The euro extended gains on Tuesday on growing expectations that any concerns the European Central Bank flags about its strengthening at a meeting this week will have a limited impact.

“Any attempt to jawbone the currency lower by the ECB will be limited in its impact as the broader market expects policymakers to stick to their plan of gradually unwinding its policy stimulus,” said Peter Rosenstreich, head of market strategy at Swissquote in Switzerland.

PREVIOUS DAY ACTIVITY

U.S. market were higher on Monday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 21,987.56 for up with +0.59% percent or +8.29 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,476.55 for up with +0.20% percent or +4.90 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,435.33 for up with +0.10% percent or +6.67 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,413.57 for up with +0.59% percent or +8.29 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 847.05 for up with +0.79% percent or +6.62 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,737.79 for up with +0.40% percent or +6.91 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,095.25 for up with +0.13% percent or +1.47 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,465.45 for up with +0.25% percent or +3.64 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,372.65 for up with +0.22% percent or +3.04 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 21,987.56 for up with +0.18% percent or +39.46 point.
