Dollar Index Update on 04 July 2017

US PRE MARKET

The US Dollar Index are trading at 96.28 for up with +0.09% percent or +0.10 point . The cac 40 index are trading at 5,182.65  with a loss of -0.24% percent or -12.42 point . The DAX Index are trading at 12,451.61 with a loss of-0.19% percent or -22.98 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Index are trading at 3,484.00 with a loss of -0.20% percent or -7.11 point.

TODAY’s FACTORS AND EVENTS

U.S. equities kicked off the second half of the year on the right foot, closing mostly higher on Tuesday as bank stocks climbed.

The Dow Jones industrial average notched a record high before closing about 130 points higher, with Goldman Sachs contributing the most gains. The S&P 500 rose 0.23 percent, with financials and energy leading advancers. The Nasdaq composite lagged, trading 0.5 percent lower.

“You’re still seeing money coming out of tech and into financials,” said Marc Chaikin, CEO of Chaikin Analytics. “The rally in financials has real legs.”

 Shares of Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo and Citgroup all rose in early trade. The big bank stocks are coming off a strong week, with the SPDR S&P Bank exchange-traded fund (KBE) surging 3.82 percent after positive results from the Federal Reserve’s annual stress test.

PREVIOUS DAY ACTIVITY

U.S. market indexes were mixed on Monday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 21,479.27 for up with +0.61% percent or +129.64 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,429.01 for up with +0.23% percent or +5.60 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,110.06 with a loss of –0.49% percent or -30.36 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,426.68 for up with + 0.80% percent or +11.32 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 863.34 for up with +0.88% percent or +7.49 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,758.04 for up with +0.65% percent or +11.39 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,070.50 for up with +0.26% percent or +2.79 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,441.00 for up with of +0.29% percent or +4.18 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,346.86 for up with +0.25% percent or +3.34 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 21,479.27 for up with +0.61% percent or  129.64 point.
