Dollar Index Update on 07 June 2017

US  PRE MARKET

The US Dollar Index are trading at 96.95 for up with  +0.44% percent or +0.41 point . The cac 40 index are trading at 5,315.59 for up with  +0.88% percent or +46.37 point . The DAX Index are trading at 12,737.28 for up with    +0.37% percent or +47.16 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Index are trading at 3,572.80 for up with  +0.52% percent or +18.62 point .

TODAY’s FACTORS AND EVENTS

U.S. government debt prices were slightly off on Wednesday, as investors prepare themselves for more data releases ahead of an important election in the U.K. and a meeting by the European Central Bank (ECB).

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note sat higher at around 2.152 percent at 7:10 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was slightly up at 2.813 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.

Investors appear to be taking a breather Wednesday, ahead of a slew of events set to take place later this week.

 On Thursday, British citizens will head to the polling stations to vote in the nation’s general election, with investors currently eyeing the latest polls and moves in sterling for any indications on what the result might be.

Ahead of this, political parties are in their final stretch of campaigning on Wednesday, with each group hoping to secure a significant number of parliamentary seats in the election.

U.S. market indexes were lower Tuesday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 21,136.23  with  a loss of  –0.23% percent or –47.81 point. The S&P 500 closed  at 2,429.33  with a loss of  –0.28% percent or –6.77 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,275.06 with a loss of  –0.33%  percent or –20.63 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,394.90 with a loss of  –0.11% percent or -1.55 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 844.96 with a loss of –0.12% percent or –1.05 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,737.05 with a loss of –0.38% percent or –6.57 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,071.62  with a loss of –0.22% percent or –2.38 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,437.82 with  a loss of  -0.27% percent or  -3.95 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,346.12 with a loss of  -0.29% percent or -3.88 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 21,136.23 with a loss of –0.23% percent or –47.81 point.
